New Thesis Statement

International economic aid is one of the main factors that help facilitate the process of reconciliation and sustained peace, especially in developing countries. Utilizing Liberia as a case study, I argue that economic aid will be effectively utilized if allocated to local NGOs and grassroots organizations which will increase capacity for rule of law and community dialogue.  This paper will examine rule of law in Liberia, explain why the current government is inefficient due to corruption, assess donor involvement in the process of aid allocation,  and ultimately propose why NGOs sustain peacebuilding.
